Richard Kushinsky, a life long resident of Toms River, NJ, graduate of Toms River High School, 1951,
AB Literature University of North Carolina , Chapel Hill 1955, LLD Boston University 1958.
Attorney admitted to the NJ Bar in 1959. Former Judge of Workers' Compensation 1980 - 1989. Returned to
law practice in 1989 and continuing to do so.
Richard Kushinsky started drawing and a child but discontinued until he was a young adult.
he studied with a loacl artist for a number of years; and, in 1967 - 68, he studied scuplture at the Art
Students League in New York City.
Richard is an active member of the local artists organizations. He joined the
Ocean County Artists' Guild in 2004 where he has taken many courses in all media; he also particates in
the Guild's Saturday life drawing sessions and in the Sunday afternoon portrait sessions. He currently
teaches a Tuesday print class at OCAG. He is also a charter member of the Toms River Artists Co-operative exit 81 (
TRACx81) group Which has a gallery on Main Steet in Toms River courtesy of the Toms River BID organization.
He is a regular exhibitor at both OCAG and TRacx81.He is also a member of the Shrewsbury Guild of Creative Arts.
Richard is a member of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provicetown, Massachusetts.
Richard has exhibited in these organizations as well as participated in juried exhibitions. He was accepted
in juried exhibitions at the Ocean County Artists' Guild 2004 to 2008; he was also accepted into juried exhibitions
at the Guild of Creative Arts in 2007 and 2008.
